Unibrain is a global leader in the development of FireWire (IEEE-1394), SuperSpeed USB 3.0, 4.0 and multimedia hardware and software solutions for the industrial, machine vision and OEM markets.

Unibrain was founded in 1985 in Athens and in 2000 it established a subsidiary in San Ramon, California, USA (Unibrain, Inc.) to promote, sell and support its customers in North and South America.

Unibrain’s FireWire products enable consumer electronics vendors, integrators and software companies to dynamically enter the FireWire market: to design, manufacture, and sell products that end users can start using today.

Unibrain’s development activity spans the entire gamut of hardware, firmware and software development. Development work is done with the latest diagnostic and analysis devices, while the firmware and software team has access to the best development tools. Careful analysis is done to determine what should be placed in hardware, firmware, and software, while all technical personnel are involved in the development process.

Unibrain recently expanded to new developments in storage and multimedia technologies by inventing iZAK, a multimedia storage device capable of playing recorded TV shows, downloaded films, home movies, music and photo galleries directly on any TV set, while at the same time, is a powerful external hard disk. In 2004 iZAK was awarded with “The Best of Retail Vision Awards” and since then Unibrain has proceeded in major commercial OEM agreements with leading international companies.
