    Unibrain Type-A to Type-C hybrid Active Optical Cable (AOC) is a USB 3.1 Gen2 compliant device, supporting transmission speeds up to 10 Gbps with excellent signal quality.
    Compared to traditional copper cables, which have a maximum length of up to 5m with active components, the Hybrid USB 3.1 AOC is slimmer, lighter can be extended up to 50 meters (164 ft) and can handle much better EMI/EMC interference.

    The cable can be used in video conferencing applications, as security camera extensions, digital signage, high speed USB 3.0/3.1 external storage.

    The USB 3.0 Hybrid Active Optical cables resolve one limitation of pure optical cables which cannot supply power to the end device.
    On the basis of the use of a thin profile (3.7 mm) optical fiber as the transmission medium, the Hybrid AOC integrates copper to supply power both the active components of the cable and the device(s), in the case they are bus powered.
    The USB 3.0 Hybrid AOC can extend the USB 3.0 bus up to 50 meters or 164 ft with a maximum bandwidth speed of 5 Gbps and features a female Type-A connector (with screw lock support), to which the user can attach any regular, short USB 3.0 cable of Type-A to Type-A/Type-B/Micro-B, to drive any USB 3.0 device. Alternatively, a USB 3.0 hub can be attached to which USB 2.0 and 3.0 devices can be connected for backwards, USB 2.0, compatibility.
